California ELO-P Program: Opportunities and Challenges

California’s Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) has become a key part of the state’s K–12 education system, especially for elementary students. It extends learning beyond the regular school day by funding before-school, after-school, and summer programs for students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through Grade 6.
