What to Learn

1) Spatial Sense (5 Lessons)
Spatial awareness is not just a learning tool—it’s a key way of thinking. It helps children observe and analyze spatial relationships in daily life to make decisions and solve problems. Spatial Sense focuses on building a structured, systematic way of thinking.
| Lessons | Topic | Key Concepts | Lesson Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Taking Photos | Three Views | Develop an initial understanding of different views and learn to match corresponding objects based on multiple perspectives. |
| 7 | Shape Beauty Contest | Polygon | Recognize polygons and distinguish between general polygons and regular polygons. |
| 9 | Rolling Shapes | Cone, Cylinder, Sphere | Identify and differentiate cylinders, cones, and spheres, while understanding the difference between flat and curved surfaces. |
| 12 | Lost in Castle | 3D Maze | Understand rules and complete assigned tasks by following them; plan logical routes according to different sets of rules. |
| 17 | Tumble Jumble | Block Building | Engage in block-building activities to develop a basic understanding of three-view drawings.Learn the concept of “perfectly passing through the wall,” meaning the front view of an object exactly matches the shape of the hole on the “wall.” |
2) Number Sense (4 Lessons)
Number sense refers to an intuitive understanding of numbers and their relationships, as well as the flexible use of numerical concepts. This includes a strong grasp of quantity, magnitude, order, patterns, and basic operations.
| Lessons | Topic | Key Concepts | Lesson Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | One Day in Cannery | Number Bond | Orderly decomposition of 8 and 10 to strengthen the understanding of the concepts of whole and parts. |
| 8 | Party at Beach | Subtraction in 10 | Understand “subtract” and “how much less,” and recognize that take away means reducing a quantity. Recognize the subtraction sign and be able to use it to complete equations. |
| 11 | Top it up | Addition Word Problem | In solving real-world problems, understand the different meanings of addition (combining, increasing). |
| 15 | Piggy Bank | Subtraction Word Problem | In solving real-world problems, understand the different meanings of subtraction (reducing, taking parts). |
3) Logical Reasoning (4 Lessons)
- Logical reasoning is not just a tool for solving specific problems — it’s a core thinking ability. This ability allows children to analyze based on facts, rules, and relationships, forming a clear chain of reasoning that helps them make sound decisions and handle challenges in complex situations.
- Reasoning emphasizes developing a structured way of thinking — teaching children to use logic as a lens to understand the world and to approach real-life problems systematically and thoughtfully.
| Lessons | Topic | Key Concepts | Lesson Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Chase it! | Visual Tracking | Through structured observation, children learn to identify and match two identical objects. By using visual tracking, they can follow a path to locate the corresponding item accurately. |
| 10 | Squary the Pirate | Elimination | Learn to apply logical elimination — using given conditions to exclude incorrect options and arrive at the only correct answer. |
| 15 | Wowowowo | Exchange with Balanced Scales | Begin to understand that a balanced scale represents equality — the items on both sides have the same value. Kids can then use this understanding to solve equivalent exchange problems. |
| 18 | Journey to the Cave | Positional Reasoning | Learn to recognize and apply rules, children develop the ability to perform positional or sequential reasoning, allowing them to infer order, placement, and relationships based on patterns or logical rules. |
4) Expression & Creativity (3 Lessons)
- Expression: Develop the ability to express thoughts independently and clearly, while also learning to listen to and accept others’ suggestions. This helps them build confidence in communication and fosters empathy and collaboration.
- Creativity: Through innovative thinking, children are encouraged to explore multiple solutions and seek the most effective ones. They learn to transfer and apply knowledge and skills from one context to another, cultivating flexibility, curiosity, and the ability to connect ideas creatively across different domains.
| Lessons | Topic | Key Concepts | Lesson Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Step by Step | Map | Learn to read maps and interpret legends, and follow directional instructions to complete routes accurately. |
| 5 | Kingdom of Origami | Origami | Practice paper-folding visualization, learning to distinguish between folding inward and outward. By observing how the number of layers changes when a paper is folded, and how holes punched through folded paper appear in symmetrical positions after unfolding, children strengthen their spatial awareness and predictive reasoning. |
| 13 | Float and Sink | Buoyancy Test | Based on real-life experiences, children will be guided to form hypotheses, conduct simple experiments, and observe and record how different objects float or sink in water. Through hands-on exploration, they will understand that when the submarine’s ballast tank fills with more water, it sinks — laying the foundation for scientific observation and causal reasoning. |

What Our Students Achieve
At Think Academy, you don’t just see your child working hard—you see them growing. Every lesson translates into stronger skills, sharper problem-solving, and more joy in learning math.
Watch our students fully engaged—solving problems in real time, clicking answers in our interactive class app, and staying motivated from start to finish.
Our students build powerful habits like taking clear notes, checking their answers, and explaining their thinking. They learn to approach each question logically—and take pride in finding solutions.

Think Academy’s long-term students consistently perform more than 40 points above the US national average on the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) math assessment. Their average percentile ranking places them in the top 2% nationwide.
Across grades, our students not only maintain this high performance but also show steady acceleration in math skills year over year. This demonstrates that our structured curriculum, targeted instruction, and consistent practice lead to exceptional, measurable growth.
