Teaching Team

Last week, all the students completed Lesson 4 and took the first stage test of the semester 💯.

The Stage Test is designed to help both teachers and parents clearly see your child’s learning progress and strengthen their foundation.

After each test, the system generates a personalized analysis report and assigns 3–8 targeted practice questions based on mistakes, helping students review the exact knowledge points they need to improve.

Next, let’s take a look at how to access your child’s Stage Test report! 👇

Stage Test Guidelines for Parents

Stage Tests are typically given every 3–4 lessons. We encourage students to plan their review and set aside time for these assessments. If your child cannot take the test live, it can still be accessed in the Student App.

College Prep Spotlight

  1. Harvard has officially ended its 50+ year-old Undergraduate Minority Recruitment Program amid federal scrutiny of race-related admissions practices. Elite colleges may further scale back race-related outreach, signaling a shift toward more “race-neutral” recruitment. Students will increasingly need to stand out through academics, unique extracurricular depth, and compelling personal stories—not through demographic factors. (Source: https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2025/9/15/admissions-minority-recruitment-program-end/)
  2. College Board will no longer provide admissions officers with the “Landscape” tool that offered high schools’ socioeconomic and community context. Without this context, admissions may weigh students’ raw GPA, course rigor, and standardized test scores even more heavily. (Source: https://allaccess.collegeboard.org/update-landscape)

Q1: How much is the ACH discount?

A1: When you enroll in a current Think long-term course and pay via ACH, you’ll receive a 1.5% off coupon for the tuition of your next long-term course. This coupon can be combined with the $50 early-renewal discount.

For Example: If a middle-school parent enrolls for the Fall term using ACH, they’ll receive a $18.90 coupon for the Spring term. Combined with the $50 early-renewal discount, the total savings for Spring enrollment would be $68.90.

ACH is the official U.S. bank-to-bank transfer system, which is more stable and secure than credit-card transactions. We highly recommend parents use ACH whenever possible.

Q2: When will there be class times suitable for children on U.S. Eastern Time?

A2: Thank you very much for parents’ trust in us! Currently, Think’s courses cover weekday evenings and weekend afternoons in the Eastern Time Zone.

As the number of students from New York State and Texas continues to grow, the Think Online team is recruiting and training teachers and support staff in those time zones, preparing to open morning classes for Eastern and Central time zones.

Starting in Spring 2026, we will pilot Eastern-morning classes, and during Summer 2026, we will expand more class options based on the proportion of enrolled students in these regions.

At that time, we will also release a class-demand survey, inviting parents with scheduling needs to fill it out. We will do our best to meet everyone’s needs!

Q3: We’re in China, and sometimes I can’t reach the teachers!

A2: Think Academy U.S. is headquartered in California (Pacific Time Zone). Our operating hours correspond to Beijing Time 1:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. If you need to contact a teacher or support staff, you’ll get a timely response during those hours.

Outside of these times, you can leave a message on WeChat or the Parent App, and our staff will respond as soon as the office reopens.

Even with the time difference, the Think team is committed to delivering excellent classes and warm communication to bridge any small inconvenience.
